CONCRETE ESTIMATOR
How Many Bags of Concrete Per Yard?
Use approximate bag yields to convert one cubic yard of concrete into bag counts.
Use the calculator →Quick answer
Approximate counts before waste: 90 × 40-lb bags, 72 × 50-lb bags, 60 × 60-lb bags, 45 × 80-lb bags, or 40 × 90-lb bags.
Your final order should reflect the actual dimensions, conditions, product yield and any buffer you choose.
How the calculation works
One cubic yard contains 27 cubic feet. Divide 27 by the stated yield of the bag to estimate the number of bags, then round up to whole bags.

Before you buy
- Measure the actual area and depth.
- Confirm the yield printed on the bag or supplier specification.
- Plan for site variation and spillage.
- For larger pours, compare ready-mix delivery with bagged material and labor.
